Time for a chat?

Question: When was the last time you have a good old chinwag with someone on the phone?

Really think about it. Can't remember?

Well neither can I, and I have to admit that I am ashamed of it. This blog is my heartfelt campaign to get the nation chatting again! Forget the odd text here and there, or sending a message on Facebook - now is the time for talking!!

Don't get me wrong, I am willing to admit that I am a huge fan of Social Media and all things technological, but I honestly cannot remember the last time I put aside half an hour to have a catch up with someone over a phone call. Have tweets and status updates become the only way of communicating what is going on in our lives?! And what happens about speaking to the older generation who think birds are the only tweeters?

Food for thought here. Now I am off to call everyone I know :)

Joining the 21st Century...

I have decided that it is about time that I stepped up to meet modern lifestyles! So I am getting an iPhone!

Gone are the days of playing snake on my 3310 and having the simple functions of texting and making phone calls...that's right ladies and gentlemen, I can now tweet, check-in and facetime whilst on the train or eating my packed lunch!

And this got me thinking...now I have all this technology and every social media channel in the palm of my hand, at what point does it become annoying? Do people care every time I check into Nandos? Do people want to see pictures of snow? (Admit it, you know the snow updates bug you!)

I follow a lot of companies on Twitter/Facebook who are constantly posting things which have little interest to me. So far I have managed to avoid them whilst I am away from my computer, but now they are sitting in my pocket just waiting for me to take a glance - does this lead to me unfollowing? Only time will tell.

So I ask you all, next time you want to check in to "my crib", please spare a thought for those of us who actually do not care!

And so it begins...

Hello, and welcome to my blog!
I am new to all of this at the moment so please be kind...

A little bit about me...
I am a Business and Marketing student and I am currently on a placement year away from uni.

I love cats and zumba.
This blog will take you through my life as a marketing student (well what is left of it!)
Everything I write is my own opinion etc etc etc

I live on Social Media... both on a personal level and it is part of my job. I am currently in love with Pinterest, building up my boards and pinning all the time.

Hopefully I will be blogging on a regular basis (alongside a full time job and an uni assignment!) with an insight into my life, my work, my opinions on different business and marketing issues and maybe a sneaky picture or two of my cat if you are lucky!!
